It’s Time for Health to be Your Priority

My husband recently became quite ill. We put off going to the doctor because our health insurance hadn’t started yet, which only exacerbated the problem, ultimately sending us off to urgent care and then to the ER.

Thankfully, it turned out to be an upper respiratory infection and asthma, which is totally manageable, and he’s doing much better now. Nonetheless, it scared the living daylights out of me and, more importantly, put things into perspective.

His health scare reminded me that my family and our health are my number one priorities. Because nothing – no job, no amount of money, no material object – is more important than having a healthy family.

So, it’s time for health to be your priority. 

There’s really no better time than now.

But if being healthy is so important, why do we keep putting it off?

If we know that preventing health conditions, like heart disease and diabetes, is way easier and way better than treating those conditions, then why aren’t we doing everything in our power to lessen our risk?

Why are we taking our health for granted?

To be brutally honest, there is no good reason. We’re simply not making our health a big enough priority.
